About me

Starting with a strong technical foundation by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science at the Univeristy of California at Berkeley and further developing 3D Animation fundamentals with a Master of Arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, I was ready to join the software development industry by joining Telltale Games as a Technical Artist.

Through my work at Telltale, I have been able to dig deep into the 3D character-rigging pipeline and develop tools to automate the process using MEL scripting. Additionally, I was able to take feedback from animators and incorporate it to improve existing tools. After building and skinning over 80 rigs, I moved on to the cinematics department to develop and improve the game-authoring pipeline, which involves staging characters, setting up cameras, authoring interactive cameras, wiring triggers and authoring cutscenes. Telltale games rely heavily on how the dramatic scenes are paced and acted so it is a fairly robust aspect of making the games

After a couple of years managing a team, recruiting, training and setting schedules as head of the Cinematics Department, I relocated to Southern California and have continued to work for Telltale remotely. I am concurrently studying the latest coding techniques to further develop my technical knowledge and learn how to build better and more robust tools and applications.

Expertise

Game Authoring

Once the assets are in, I put the game together. This includes dynamically staging the characters, setting up immersive interactive cameras, putting together compelling cutscenes and authoring the animation to maximize the impact of a character's performance.

Team and Project Management

With a growing company comes a growing Cinematics department. As the department lead, I have been responsible for hiring, training, motivating, scheduling and reviewing every member of the Cinematics department.

Python Scripting

Leveraging the power of Python, and Maya's Embedded Language (MEL), I can automate repetitive tasks in the 3-D art pipeline and create widgets and tools to aid artists in creating 3D assets.
